Why You Should Use Cardzillo Over the “Seasonal” Trackers

Every time a big tournament comes around, the trackers show up. Someone spins up a site for the event, it looks slick, and everyone shares it for a few weeks. Then the tournament ends and so does the tracker.
I’m not criticising anyone. If you’ve collected for a while, you’ll have noticed that a lot of these sites look and feel the same, and most of them start and end with one tournament. That’s the problem, and it’s why I built Cardzillo.
I’m a solo developer, and Cardzillo is all me. I built it because I felt there was a massive gap in the market for a comprehensive card tracker, especially for sports cards. Most options were either built for one event or didn’t go deep enough to be a proper home for a collection.
A seasonal tracker has a shelf life built in. When the event is over, there’s no reason for it to keep growing, and your collection data sits on a site that may never be updated again. Next time, you start over on whatever new one has appeared.
Cardzillo isn’t tied to a calendar. Your collection is still there after the final whistle, and it’s still there for the next season.
The part I’m proudest of is the collection manager. In my opinion, it’s best in class, including against the big names like LastSticker. A tracker is only as good as the tool you use every day to manage your cards, so that’s where I’ve put most of my effort.
Collecting rarely means one list for one event. You might be working on a main collection, finishing a set, and building something for a friend or your kids. Seasonal trackers don’t really handle that, because they weren’t designed to.
Cardzillo is built around that reality, and with hobby collections and multiple collections coming to memberships soon, there’ll be even more room to organise things your way.
Cardzillo started with sports, and that’s still our focus. But we’re moving fast into entertainment and other themes, including Harry Potter. Your tracker should grow with your interests, not disappear when the tournament does.
Because Cardzillo is built by one person, it’s personal. If there’s something you want, you’re talking to the person who’ll build it. A site made to ride a hype wave can’t offer that.
Cardzillo is free forever. There will be memberships and potentially a small amount of ads soon for hobby collections and multiple collections, but the core experience isn’t going anywhere.
If all you want is a quick checklist for one event, a seasonal tracker will do. But if you care about your collection beyond a single tournament, give it a home that’s built to last.
